Balimo Sleepover Earlier this year we had a bit of a youthful rebellion from our young riders: they wanted a Balimo clinic for themselves, and they wanted it with a twist: a sleepover! (Take a look at our photos page to see more.) Since we're always game to try something new, we said sure. We had a great night-into-day clinic, starting with a pizza party, then a discussion of Balimo riding theory, then a sleepover inside our indoor, and a riding clinic the following day. The clinic worked on rider's independent seats, balance, body awareness, and blockages. The riders saw lots of impromvement in their dressage riding, which will also serve them well as the jump and ride cross country, too. |
|
Balimo Clinic A Balimo (Balance in Motion) Riding Clinic was held at the farm over the weekend. Hollie McNeil is a graduate of the Balimo Instructor Training Program which focuses on a rider being in balance with their muscles and coordination. The weekend started with a gathering and lecture on Saturday night, followed by a group warm-up and exercise session on Sunday, addressing the 6 areas in our body where there are balance issues and blockages. A more balanced rider makes a better rider, which in turn makes our horses happier and more free to move. There were both dramatic and subtle changes in all the riders and everyone came away from the weekend more aware of their body (and maybe a bit sore...). For more information on Balimo, please take a look at the information sheet. or contact us |
